It is the high time to prepare yourself for upcoming European Code Week (5 – 20 October 2019) and prepare great coding event for participants aged 8 – 24! We encourage nonprofits to cooperate with teachers, school, students and organize joint events to help young people get new digital skills.
Last year, more than 50,000 participants took part in 1,100 programming events financed from Meet and Code grants powered by SAP.
Until September 8, local non-profits across Europe can apply for grants of 300 – 500 euros to organise coding events and provide access to digital skills for young Europeans. Additionally, you may win 2000 euro prize in Meet and Code Award.
Get Some Inspiration!
One of the biggest challenges for Meet and Code organisers is to devise a compelling event that interests young people. No worries! Meet and Code team has prepared some inspirations for you: stories, useful tips and tricks from last year events organisers. You will find them in “Stories” and “Inspiration Library” sections. Learn more about:
- #SuperTeacher, who made his students astronauts for one day
- 3D printer building in a local library
- Coding football with Scratch
- Programming workshops for young offenders
Remember, that all nonprofits registered to Meet and Code have access to a Welcome Pack with tools that can help you make your event more interesting and also prepare visually attractive communication about it.
Don’t hesitate to use Inspiration Library where you will find useful resources, presentations and tool kits to learn and or teach coding in your national languages. Please notice that each of 22 partners localize materials in a local language, that’s why they are different for each country.
Please share the information about Meet and Code with all interested nonprofits – they have time to apply until September 8.
