In view of the unlawful invasion of the sovereign state of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, we are forced to cancel the Personal Democracy Forum Ukraine 2022 (PDFUA 2022).

In behalf of the organisers, we wanted to thank our speakers for your willingness to engage with the conference to share your knowledge and experience. Thank you all who registered for the event. As the situation in Ukraine is unpredictable, we have decided not to postpone the event, but cancel it altogether.
💙💛Our thoughts are with colleagues from Громадянська мережа ОПОРА – longtime TechSoup partner in Ukraine, one of the leading non-governmental and non-partisan All-Ukrainian organizations for public oversight and advocacy in the field of elections, parliamentarism, education, joint ownership, energy efficiency, local self-government, as well as the comprehensive implementation of the principle of open data.
We truly believe that democracy, peace, and unity prevail.
💪Stay strong!
🇺🇦 Stay with Ukraine!

PERSONAL DEMOCRACY FORUM UKRAINE (PDF UA 2022) was supposed to be held on March 3-4 in Kyiv in a hybrid form with The “Future of the Elections” as the main topic.

TechSoup Europe joins OPORA, TransparenCEE Network and OSCE/ODIHR for the fifth time and brings “tech4good”, transparency, and open data topics to the Ukrainian debate about democracy and the role of civil society.

The Conference Format

We would like to gather everyone offline and exchange views not only during discussions, but over a cup of coffee. However, the COVID-19 pandemic still does not give us a chance to get together onsite.

Therefore, the event will take place in a hybrid format in English and Ukrainian – participants and some speakers will join online, and the rest of the presenters will speak from the studio in Kyiv.

The Theme

The key theme of the #PDFUA22 this year will be elections. The goal is to bring central government authorities, civil society activists, and independent experts from around the world together to discuss the future of elections and the role technology can play in it in terms of e-voting and the impact of cybersecurity threats to the electoral process.

The Details

In particular, let’s immerse ourselves into the psychology of elections and analyze why we vote one way or another and what is behind our decisions. We will dream about the electoral technologies of the future: what will be the voting in the nearest and the distant future. We will look for recipes for how to maintain objectivity in the electoral process in the “Digital Age”, resist electoral disinformation and at the same time develop space for a free public debate. We will discuss the issues of monitoring of the electoral process: how the public control organizations adapt their observation methodologies in times of digital transformation and what changes are necessary in the electoral legislation.
