On March 31, 2020, TechSoup Europe in cooperation with “Protest z Wykrzyknikiem” and “Demagog” organised a webinar “True or False? How to Respond to Disinformation”. It was a local event in Poland dedicated to teachers, educators and academic lecturers. The numbers of registrations were 905, with 305 participants and a variety of partners who helped us spread the word about the webinar. The high interest reflects just how important this topic of fact-checking and disinformation is during the pandemic.
We chose educators as our target group, cause as a group with a high level of social authority, they also spread unverified information, gossips or chain letters reinforcing bad online practices.
The numbers of registrations (905), participants (305) and a variety of partners who helped us spread the word about the webinar show how important is the topic of fact-checking and disinformation during the pandemic.
TechSoup Italia is holding a 5-week webinar marathon including 3 specifically focused on MS products to help NGO’s work remotely. Every day at 14.30 you can also meet the team hosting live streaming informal chats on Facebook and YouTube with special guests – people from the third sector, journalists, bloggers, startuppers and donor partners.
Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation (WCIF) is a part of a national NGO Initiative called “We could do overcome it together”. They help Bulgarian third sector deal with remote work by preparing a series of articles and tutorials. For their grantees (most of them working with children) WCIF has developed a special leaflet of how parents may help their children cope with the fear.
Fundraising Verband Austria is holding a series of webinars and online talks about how nonprofits can deal with the current situation in the areas of fundraising, volunteer management, employment, home office, or technical stuff.
